Who This Is
This site is run by Jeff Newland, doing business as Run The Work ("Run The Work," "we," "us"). This page explains what information we collect through this site, why, and what you can do about it. We wrote it in plain language. If something here is unclear, email support@runthework.com.
What We Collect
Free guide sign-up. If you ask for the free guide, No License, No Work, we collect your first name and email address. They are collected and stored with our email service provider, MailerLite, so we can send you the guide and updates. You can unsubscribe anytime using the link in any email we send.
Paid books, when they go on sale. Paid purchases will be handled by Stripe Checkout. Stripe collects your name, email address, billing details and payment card details, and for the setup review package your phone number. Your card details go to Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive your name, email address and the order details so we can deliver your files and keep records.
Booking the setup review call. Buyers of the $697 package book a one-hour call through Calendly. Calendly collects your name, email address, the time you choose and anything you type into the booking form. The call itself runs on Zoom, so Zoom handles the meeting link and the call.
Website hosting. Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, the pages requested and your browser type, to run and secure the site.
If you email us, we keep your message and your email address so we can reply.
How We Use It
- To send you the free guide and the emails you signed up for.
- To process orders, deliver files and book calls.
- To answer your questions and give support.
- To keep business, tax and accounting records.
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the services named on this page, and only so they can do their part of the job: MailerLite for email, Stripe for payments, Calendly and Zoom for the call and Netlify for hosting. Each of them has its own privacy policy.
Email and Unsubscribing
Emails about the free guide and about commercial construction come from Jeff Newland. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Use it at any time and you will stop getting those emails. Receipts and messages about an order you placed are separate and will still be sent.
Cookies and Analytics
This site does not use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies right now. If we add any, we will update this page first. The booking calendar from Calendly appears only on the download page for the $697 package, and Calendly may set its own cookies when it loads. Stripe may also set cookies on its checkout page.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your sign-up information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep order and payment records as long as we need them for tax, accounting and legal reasons.
Your Choices
You can unsubscribe at any time. You can also email us to ask what information we have about you, to correct it or to delete it. We will do that unless we are required to keep a record, such as an order record for taxes.
Children
This site is written for adults who work in construction. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this page, we will post the new version here with a new date.
